3 Ocean Haiku

Hugh Findlay

Angling
still, alone, thoughtless
   sentry to my napping pole
catching fish a bother

OK
losing the biggest
fish of his life, I nod, nod —
      heard this one before

famished
while I sit hungry
a seagull nibbles a crab
waves keep eating beach
