Submission Guidelines

Include your full name, the title of your submission, your email address, and a short, 100-word bio. While submissions previously published on personal blogs are acceptable, we do not accept submissions previously published in other publications.

General submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis. All submissions for contests will receive either an acceptance or rejection notification. Please review the contest page for themed submissions.

Prose: Submit no more than one prose piece at a time. Prose should be single-spaced, Times New Roman font, and no longer than 2,000 words. Submit as Microsoft Word or PDF.

Poetry: Submit no more than three poems at a time. Poems should be single-spaced in a Times New Roman font as a Microsoft Word or a PDF file.

Submissions may be sent through the Submit tab on the Four Tulips website or via email to editior@fourtulips.com. Include the title in the subject line of any email submission. Contest submission instructions are included with each contest description. Please keep in mind that contest submissions are prioritized and open submissions are read on a rolling basis.

Four Tulips acquires only the first serial publication rights of accepted work. Copyright is asserted on behalf of the author; all reprint rights (print or electronic) revert to the author upon publication.

Contests with cash prize winners are awarded via check after award announcements. Contests winners and finalists included in print anthologies receive one copy, free of charge, mailed to their provided address.
