Buffalo Blizzards
Cody Adams
Lake-effect wrath tears through
nights before the new year—
tiny frozen stars whip & pierce
steep banks sprawled in white dunes
tainted by
negative digits, the fingers that stitch
heavy quilts to cloak town.
Lone chirp stabs
dawn’s quiet, thawing
blue-black mourning.
