Arrival

Victoria Dunn

Guiding my roller bag down the jetway,
with a cargo of doubt and hope.
Not sure if I’m lost or found,
but sure I’m alone.

Fair-weather sun on alien waters, salt spray, sea breath:
a Midwesterner’s half-thought dream.
I called my own bluff and found what free will can get you:
uncertainty, and the promise of renewal.
